This is a Mediation Buddha (known as Dhyana Buddha) miniature statue / figurine. This little Buddha statue measures 1 inch tall (3.1 cm). Sometimes people will set these statues up on mini alters, or will take them with them when they travel. Other people might put these statues in a small glass or plastic case and keep them in their car, either affixed to the dashboard or hanging from the mirror (check driving laws first before doing that).

The Meditation Buddha is a symbol of stability, both mental and physical, as meditation is traditionally regarded as a great way to calm the mind and clear ones thoughts and negative emotions. Modern medicine recommends meditation as a great way to combat high blood pressure, otherwise known as hypertension.

The Dhayana Buddha depicts the Buddha in meditation, and you will note that the hands rest in one another with the palms upward, and the legs of The Buddha are crossed in the Double Lotus position, where the heels are tucked above the legs. This is a traditional pose for mediation practice since it helps the meditation practitioner maintain the pose upright sitting pose for longer. (There are other statues that depict The Buddha in a Single Lotus pose where one leg is tucked underneath the other).

Please note that the overall "form" of The Buddha is roughly in the shape of a triangle, with the widest point being the Lotus Blossom base, narrowing upwards to the top of the Buddha's head. This triangle helps to represent the concept of stability, almost as if a pyramid standing upward pointing to the sky.
